Unlucky Moon: A Vietnam War Memoir by Ed Blanco

With the Vietnamese translator on patrol with local provincial troops.

A personal account of war by a first generation Newyorican who served in Vietnam during the bloodiest year of the war, then returned there twenty-one years later (arriving without a visa) to find a hamlet where his company fought one afternoon during the Tet offensive of 1968.

The author's recollections are helped by the diary he kept during the war, but also by Army records and by interviews with many veterans who served with him during his combat tour, 1967-68.
